대전테크노파크(원장 김우연)가 차세대 통신기술인 5G-Advanced(5G-A) 대응에 본격적으로 나섰다. 대전TP는 10일 대전 우주·ICT산업센터에서 지역 기업 및 기관을 대상으로 ‘5G-A 오픈테스트랩 전문가 세미나’를 열고 AI 기반 무선접속망 기술(AI RAN)의 최신 동향을 공유했다.
이번 세미나는 과학기술정보통신부가 추진 중인 ‘AI 기반 개방형 5G-A 융합서비스 테스트베드 구축·운영 사업’의 일환으로, 한국전자통신연구원(ETRI)과 대전TP가 공동 주관했다. 대전은 해당 사업의 테스트베드 거점 지역으로, 이번 세미나는 기술 확산과 지역 기업의 기술 내재화를 위한 첫 걸음이다.
5G-A는 기존 5G 네트워크보다 속도, 지능화, 안정성이 한층 향상된 진화형 기술로, 6G 전환을 위한 핵심 디딤돌로 평가받고 있다. 특히 AI RAN은 인공지능을 활용해 네트워크 트래픽을 자동으로 분석하고 자원을 최적화하는 핵심 구성 요소로, 통신 품질과 효율성 모두를 끌어올릴 수 있다는 점에서 주목받고 있다.

대전TP 권성수 우주·ICT산업센터장은 “AI RAN은 단순한 통신 기술을 넘어 새로운 산업 생태계를 형성할 핵심 플랫폼”이라며 “대전TP는 기술 정보 접근성이 낮은 중소기업을 위해 지속적인 전문가 세미나와 테스트 환경 제공 등 실질적인 지원을 확대해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
한편 대전TP는 이번 세미나를 시작으로 올해 하반기 중 5G-A 및 오픈랜(Open RAN) 관련 후속 세미나를 연이어 개최해, 지역 ICT기업의 글로벌 기술경쟁력 확보를 위한 기반 마련에 속도를 낼 계획이다.
