박승원 광명시장, ‘2025 기후전망과 전략10인과의 대화’ 참여

[브레이크뉴스경기남부=광명 이현준기자] 박승원 광명시장은 지난 25일 서소문성지 역사박물관 명례방에서 열린 (사)녹색전환연구소 주관 ‘2025 기후전망과 전략10인과의 대화’의 기후 분야 전문가 1인으로 참여해 기후위기 시대 지방정부의 역할을 다시 한 번 강조했다.

‘2025 기후전망과 전략 10인과의 대화’는 기후위기 시대 대안을 만들고자 최전선에서 고군분투하는 각 분야 전문가 10명의 목소리를 대중과 공유하는 자리였다.

박 시장은 3부 발표자로 나서 ‘기후위기 시대를 준비하는 광명시’를 주제로 기후위기에 맞서는 지방정부의 역할과 중요성에 대해 피력했다.

현재 지방정부는 기후 변화 대응의 최전선에서 시민들과 함께 실질적인 변화를 만들어내고 있다고 설명하며 광명시가 추진하고 있는 1.5℃ 기후의병, 탄소중립실천 포인트, 재생에너지 전환, 녹색건축물 확대, 자원순환 경제체계 구축 사례 등 시민참여 탄소중립 정책을 구체적으로 소개했다.

특히 2018년 기후에너지과 신설을 시작으로, 2024년부터 2028년까지 5년간 기후대응기금 50억 원 조성, 온실가스감축인지 예산제 운영 등 기후위기 대응을 위한 제도적 기반을 탄탄히 구축하고 있다고 설명했다.

또한 향후 국토교통부 강소형 스마트시티 공모에 선정되며 예산 160억 원을 확보해 탄소중립 스마트도시로 발돋움할 준비를 하고 있음을 밝혔다.
