【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=청주대학교(총장 김윤배) 항공서비스학과 학생들이 최근 열린 전국 대학생 공모전에서 우수상과 장려상을 각각 수상했다.
청주대는 최근 서울관광재단에서 열린 '2024년 동계 한국관광연구학회 전국 대학생 공모전'에서 항공서비스학과 학생들이 우수상(21학번 정세민, 22학번 박설아, 유윤성, 이예은)과 장려상(23학번 강선영, 김나현, 이예원)을 각각 수상했다고 10일 밝혔다.
이번 전국 대학생 공모전은 'K-관광연구, 진단과 방향‘이라는 주제로 1차 제안서 심사를 통과한 전국의 대학생 25팀이 다양한 아이디어 제안 및 연구 성과를 선보였다.
청주대 항공서비스학과 학생들은 ‘사천 하늘에 반짝이는 진주’, ‘UAM과 인공지능 기반 챗봇의 융합을 통한 차세대 실시간 관광 가이드 시스템 개발’이라는 주제 발표를 통해 수상했다.
대회에 참가한 항공서비스학과 이예은 학생은 "그동안 배운 전공 관련 지식을 공모전을 통해 발휘할 수 있는 기회가 주어져 의미있고 소중한 시간이었다"고 말했다.
강선영 학생은 "이번 기회를 발판으로, 앞으로도 다양한 아이디어를 제시해 공모전에 참가하고 싶다"는 뜻을 피력했다.
이번 공모전을 지도한 항공서비스학과 박윤미 교수는 “학생들이 전국규모의 대회에 참가해 얻는 경험이 향후 큰 자산이 될 것”이라며 “향후에도 공모전을 비롯한 다양한 대외활동에 대한 지원을 적극적으로 이어나갈 계획”이라고 말했다.
이번 공모전은 부트캠프의 지원을 받아 학생들이 안정적인 여건에서 대회를 준비할 수 있었는데, 청주대 항공학부는 '2024년 첨단산업 인재육성 부트캠프 사업(항공·우주분야)‘에 비수도권 대학으로는 유일하게 두 개가 선정되어 전공자와 비전공자를 아우르는 실무·실습 중심의 교과목을 운영하는 등 차세대 항공·우주 분야의 전문 인재를 배출하는데 박차를 가하고 있다.

Students from Cheongju University (President Kim Yoon-bae) Department of Aviation Service won the Excellence Award and Encouragement Award at the recent National College Student Contest.
Cheongju University announced on the 10th that students from the Department of Aviation Service won the Excellence Award (Jeong Se-min, Class of 21, Park Seol-ah, Yoo Yoon-seong, Lee Ye-eun, Class of 22) and the Encouragement Award (Kang Seon-yeong, Kim Na-hyun, Lee Ye-won, Class of 23) at the '2024 Winter Korea Tourism Research Association National College Student Contest' held by the Seoul Tourism Foundation.
This National College Student Contest was held under the theme of 'K-Tourism Research, Diagnosis and Direction', and 25 college teams from across the country who passed the first round of proposal screening presented various idea proposals and research results.
Students from Cheongju University Department of Aviation Service won awards for their presentations on the topics of 'Pearls Sparkling in Sacheon' and 'Development of a Next-Generation Real-Time Tourism Guide System through the Convergence of UAM and AI-Based Chatbots'.
Lee Ye-eun, a student of the Department of Aviation Service who participated in the competition, said, "It was a meaningful and valuable time as I was given the opportunity to demonstrate my major-related knowledge through the competition."
Kang Seon-yeong expressed her desire to "use this opportunity as a stepping stone to continue to participate in competitions by suggesting various ideas."
Professor Park Yoon-mi of the Department of Aviation Service, who supervised this competition, said, "The experience that students gain by participating in national competitions will be a great asset in the future," and "We plan to continue to actively support various external activities including competitions in the future."
This competition was supported by the boot camp, allowing students to prepare for the competition in a stable environment. Cheongju University's Department of Aviation was the only non-metropolitan university to be selected for the '2024 Advanced Industry Talent Development Boot Camp Project (Aviation and Space Field)', and is spurring the production of next-generation aviation and space experts by operating practical and hands-on training-centered courses that encompass both majors and non-majors.
