과천문화원이 주최·주관한 ‘제1회 과천 추사아트페스티벌’이 지난 10월 19일과 20일 이틀간 과천시민회관 일대와 추사박물관에서 개최돼 성황리에 막을 내렸다.
이번 축제는 과천에서 말년을 보낸 추사 김정희 선생의 예술적 업적을 기리며, 그가 남긴 예술정신을 현대적으로 재조명하고자 개최됐다.
19일 개막식에는 신계용 과천시장을 비롯한 시민 100여 명이 현대 미술과 공연을 통해 새롭게 재탄생한 추사 김정희의 작품을 감상하고 체험했다.

특히, VR(가상현실) 3D 영상과 건물 외벽을 스크린으로 활용한 미디어 파사드 등 현대 기술을 접목한 디지털 아트 프로그램이 참석자들의 관심을 받았다.
개그맨 오지헌과 김영복 서예·고서 감정위원은 ‘추사 토크’에 패널로 참여해 시민들에게 추사 김정희의 삶과 예술, 철학을 알기 쉽게 소개했다. 여섯 명의 아티스트가 추사의 작품을 현대적으로 재해석한 ‘추사 이야기’도 큰 호응을 얻었다.
추사 골든벨, 휘호 대회 등에 시민들이 직접 참여해 추사의 예술 세계를 경험했으며, 생활예술 굿즈 체험, 배접 만들기 체험, 진품명품 현장 감정 등 다양한 체험 부스가 운영됐다.
이외에도 길거리 공연, 서예 퍼포먼스, 추사 굿즈 스토어 등 다채로운 프로그램이 시민들의 눈길을 사로잡았다.

축제 기간에는 과천시민회관에서 추사박물관을 오가는 전용 버스가 운영돼 시민들이 편리하게 박물관을 방문하고, 추사의 작품과 유산을 가까이에서 체험할 수 있었다.
신계용 과천시장은 “추사 김정희 선생은 과천에서 말년을 보내며 수많은 걸작을 남기셨고, 과천시는 추사박물관을 통해 이 유산을 계승하고 있다”며 “이번 축제를 통해 시민들이 추사의 예술과 철학을 더 깊이 이해하는 계기가 되었기를 바란다”고 전했다.

The ‘1st Gwacheon Chusa Art Festival’ hosted and organized by Gwacheon Cultural Center was held on October 19th and 20th at the Gwacheon Citizens’ Hall and Chusa Museum, and came to a successful close.
This festival was held to commemorate the artistic achievements of Chusa Kim Jeong-hui, who spent his later years in Gwacheon, and to reconsiderate the artistic spirit he left behind in a modern way.
At the opening ceremony on the 19th, approximately 100 citizens, including Gwacheon Mayor Shin Gye-yong, appreciated and experienced the works of Chusa Kim Jeong-hui that were reborn through modern art and performances.
In particular, digital art programs that combined modern technologies such as VR (virtual reality) 3D images and media facades that used the exterior walls of buildings as screens attracted the attention of attendees. Comedian Oh Ji-heon and Kim Young-bok, a calligraphy and calligraphy appraisal committee member, participated as panelists in ‘Chusa Talk’ and introduced the life, art, and philosophy of Chusa Kim Jeong-hui to the public in an easy-to-understand manner. ‘Chusa Story’, in which six artists reinterpreted Chusa’s works in a modern way, also received a great response.
