한국스카우트연맹(총재 이찬희, 이하 스카우트연맹)은 5월 23일 보도자료에서 “한국스카우트연맹(총재 이찬희, 이하 스카우트연맹)은 5월23일 오전 10시 서울올림픽체육진흥공단(이하 체육공단)과 한국스카우트연맹회관 1층 대강당에서 ‘스포츠가치 및 올림픽 레거시 확산을 통해 건강하고 건전한 청소년 육성을 위한 업무협약’을 체결했다”고 밝혔다.

이 자료에 따르면, 이날 업무협약에서 양 기관은 유·청소년들의 건강한 몸과 마음을 증진시키는 데 적극 협력하기로 약속하였으며, 스카우트연맹은 스카우트 대원들이 보다 다양한 스포츠 활동을 경험할 수 있도록 체육공단의 올림픽가치교육, 올림픽레거시투어 등 유·청소년 특화 프로그램에 참여할 미래세대를 모집하고 추천할 계획이다.
이찬희 총재는 인사말을 통해 “이번 협약을 통해 전 세계에 걸친 네트워크를 가지고 있는 스카우트연맹의 청소년들이 스포츠를 통해 건강하고 건전한 사회 구성원으로 성장할 수 있는 계기가 될 수 있도록 체육공단과 적극 협력하겠다.”민서 “협력 사업들이 지속적으로 추진될 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다.”고 강조했다.
조현재 이사장은 “유·청소년의 건강하고 건전한 성장을 위해 스포츠가 선한 영향력을 펼칠 수 있는 계기가 마련되어 매우 기쁘게 생각한다.”며, “스포츠가치와 올림픽레거시의 정신은 스카우트 운동과 유사하여, 양 기관이 우리 미래세대에게 전달 할 수 있는 가치는 무궁무진하다. 스카우트 가족 여러분이 진정한 스포츠가치와 올림픽레거시의 정신을 체화할 수 있도록 아낌없이 지원하겠다.”고 화답했다.
스카우트연맹은 공단과 협업하여 청소년들이 다양한 스포츠 활동에 참여할 수 있는 프로그램을 전개하는 한편, 스카우트가 가진 전 세계 175개 회원국 네트워크와 공단이 전개하고 이는 ESG 얼라이언스 네트워킹을 통하여 전 세계 청소년에게 스포츠 가치 및 올림픽 레거시를 확산하는 사업을 공동 전개 해 나갈 예정이라고 밝혔다.
