【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=청주시 외국인주민 지원센터(센터장 이은숙)는 청주시 글로벌 서포터즈 사업을 시작했다고 14일 밝혔다.
글로벌 서포터즈는 국제 교류를 원하는 청주시민과 외국인주민 간 1:1 매칭을 통해 외국인주민의 지역사회 조기정착을 지원하는 사업이다.
매주 목요일 주제를 정해서 서로 대화하는 시간을 갖는다. 내국인은 외국인 주민에게 한국문화에 대한 정보를 제공하고, 외국인 주민은 한국생활에 필요한 정보와 상담을 한국어로 연습할 수 있는 기회를 얻는다.
14일 청주시 외국인주민 지원센터에서 진행된 첫날 활동에는 청주시민 15명과 외국인주민 20여명이 한 자리에 모여, 서로를 소개하며 화기애애한 시간을 가졌다.
이은숙 외국인주민 지원센터장은 “청주시 글로벌 서포터즈 활동을 시작으로 내국인과 외국인이 공존하며 살아가는 사회 분위기를 만들고, 상호 이해할 수 있는 기회가 됐으면 좋겠다”고 말했다.
글로벌 서포터즈 활동에 참여한 내국인주민 김철배 씨는 “지금까지의 봉사활동과는 다른 개념의 봉사활동 형태”라며, “외국인주민에게 실질적인 도움을 전달해 줄 수 있을 거라 기대된다”며 소감을 밝혔다.
