(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시가 14일, 시가 주최하고 인천관광공사, ㈜경기일보가 공동주관하는 인천의 대표 음악축제인 ‘인천펜타포트 음악축제’가 문화체육관광부 ‘글로벌 축제 육성 지원사업’ 공모에 최종 선정됐다고 밝혔다.
인천시에 따르면, 이날 문체부는 인천펜타포트 음악 축제를 비롯해 수원 화성문화제, 화천 산천어축제 등 3개 축제를 글로벌 축제 육성 지원사업으로 선정해 발표했다.
이번 공모사업은 전국의 지역축제가 1,200여 개나 되지만 우리나라를 대표할 수 있는 국가대표 축제가 필요하다는 인식에 따라, 지역축제 중 잠재력 있는 축제를 선정해 세계인이 찾는 축제로 육성·지원하기 위해 실시됐다.
이번 공모에 선정되면서 시는 올해 6억 6천만 원 비롯해 3년간 국비를 지원받아 문체부와 함께 인천펜타포트 음악축제의 특징과 교통 입지, 글로벌 수용태세 등을 면밀히 분석해 인천펜타포트 음악축제가 글로벌 축제로 발돋움하기 위한 맞춤형 전략을 마련할 계획이다.
한편, 인천펜타포트 음악축제는 국내·외 최정상급 아티스트 50개 팀의 공연과 다양한 체험 프로그램을 동시에 즐길 수 있는 펜타포트 락 페스티벌을 필두로, 신인 및 기성 가수를 발견하는 펜타 슈퍼루키, 지역 라이브 클럽과 연계해 진행하는 펜타포트 라이브 클럽파티 등 청소년부터 장년까지 다양한 세대가 함께 즐길 수 있는 다양한 프로그램이 선보인다.
