브레이크뉴스 노보림 기자= 서울 강남구의 한 주택가에서 샐러드를 판매하는 식당으로 위장한 뒤 성매매 알선 사무실을 운영해온 일당이 적발됐다.
8일 경찰에 따르면 서울경찰청 생활질서과는 성매매처벌법 위반 혐의로 조직 총책 A씨와 안마시술소 직원 B 씨 등 2명을 구속하고 이들과 공모 혐의를 받는 관련자 59명을 불구속 입건했다.
경찰 조사에 따르면 이들은 성매매 광고를 올리는 용도로 블로그 24개를 만들었고, 이를 보고 연락해온 남성들을 상대로 성매매를 알선했다.
성매매를 원한다는 남성들을 사전 공모한 서울 강남구 대형 안마시술소로 가게끔 연결시켜준 뒤, 1인당 2~6만원의 알선 수익금을 챙겼다. 경찰이 파악한 알선 건수만 1만8000여건에 달했다.
이들은 지난 2020년 4월 위장법인을 설립한 뒤 강남구 주택가 한 상가에 샐러드 배달전문식당을 차렸다. 1층에서 실제로 샐러드를 판매했고, 2층 비밀 사무실에선 24시간 상담팀을 고용 및 운영해왔다.
특히 배달앱 등에서 "샐러드가 신선하고 맛있다"는 등의 후기가 올라올 정도로 식당을 정상 운영하며 교묘히 범행을 저질렀다.
경찰은 이 비밀 사무실에서 노트북 22대, 대포폰 64대, 무전기와 함께 파쇄기, 소각로 등 증거 인멸장비까지 발견했다면서 각자 역할을 분담해 체계적으로 범행에 나섰다고 전했다.
또한 약 2년6개월여 범행 기간동안 최소 10억원 이상의 매출을 올린 것으로 보고 있다.
이양호 서울경찰청 생활질서과장은 "최근 온라인 불법 성매매 광고가 기승을 부리고 있는 것에 대해 모니터링과 단속을 강화할 것"이라며 "온라인 기반 성매매 영업 확산을 차단할 것"이라고 밝혔다.
