새 드라마 ‘마에스트라’(연출 김정권 / 극본 홍정희 / 제작 래몽래인)는 비밀을 가진 여성 지휘자가 오케스트라 안에서 벌어지는 미스터리한 사건을 파헤치며 자신을 둘러싼 진실에 다가가는 이야기를 그린다.
‘마에스트라’는 프랑스 드라마 ‘필하모니아’를 원작으로 한 작품. 이영애는 미스터리부터 휴먼, 멜로까지 여성 지휘자로서 겪는 고충과 성장을 연기할 예정이다.
극중 이영애는 바이올리니스트 출신이자 오케스트라를 이끄는 여성 지휘자 ‘차세음’ 역을 맡았다. 내일은 없는 듯 과감하고 열정적으로 달려온 마에스트라 차세음은 모두가 부러워할 위치에 있었지만, 남들이 모르는 비밀로 인해 인생이 크게 흔들리게 된다.
