23일 SK에 따르면 최 회장은 지난 20일(현지 시간) 미국 뉴욕에서 하카인데 히칠레마(Hakainde Hichilema) 잠비아 대통령과 만나 배터리 분야 핵심 원재료와 관련한 민관협력 모델을 구축했다.
최 회장은 20일부터 미 뉴욕에서 열린 제77차 UN총회 기간동안 각국의 정상들이 뉴욕에 모인다는 점을 감안, 워싱턴D.C. 방문에 앞서 뉴욕을 찾아 히칠레마 대통령과의 면담을 이끌어 냈다. 특히, 최 회장과 히칠레마 대통령은 서로 빡빡한 일정을 감안, 20일 이른 아침 시간을 활용해 면담에 나설 만큼 의지를 보인 것으로 전해졌다.
