대통령실이 30일 '대통령실새이름위원회'를 발족한다고 밝혔다. 구성은 민간 전문가와 국민대표 등 총 13명의 위원으로 이뤄진다.
대통령실에 따르면 지난 4월15일부터 한 달간 대국민 공모 형태로 대통령 집무실 명칭 관련 각종 아이디어가 수렴된 가운데 약 3만건의 응모작이 접수됐다.
위원회는 이미 접수된 응모작에 대해 인문·사회·문화·예술을 아우르는 전문가들 분석과 국민 인식 및 선호도 조사 등을 거쳐 오는 6월 중 새 대통령실 명칭을 확정한다는 계획이다.
위원장엔 계원예술대학교 총장과 서울대 교수를 역임한 권영걸 서울디자인재단 이사장이 맡고 여성·청년 등을 아우르는 총 13명의 위원이 심의 및 선정과정에 참여한다.
위원엔 역사·문화·국어·건축·공간·디자인·홍보 등 분야의 전문가와 청년 인재·지역사회 명망가·대통령실 최장기 근무자 등 각계각층 대표 국민들이 위촉되었다.
위원 구성을 보면 이상해 성균관대 명예교수, 구현정 상명대 교수, 이정형 중앙대 교수, 장성연 서울대 교수, 김도인 방송문화진흥회 이사, 권창효 HS애드 전무, 서순주 서울센터뮤지엄 대표, 박상인 제일기획 팀장, 조서은 호반문화재단 디렉터, 방송인 김금혁, 이희복 대통령실 시설팀장, 맹기훈 이태원관광특구연합회장 등이다.
위원회는 31일 1차 회의를 열고 대통령 집무실 명칭 응모작에 대한 심사를 시작하는 가운데 추려진 후보작은 6월 초 '국민생각함(www.epeople.go.kr>idea)'을 통해 대국민 온라인 선호도 조사에 부쳐질 예정이다. 이를 바탕으로 6월 중 대통령 집무실의 새 명칭이 선정·발표될 예정이다.
대통령실은 "자유민주주의 정신과 국가 번영 염원, 역사의식 등을 담으면서 누구나 부르기 쉬운 명칭을 선정하겠다"고 밝혔다.
