지난 23일 임영웅의 소속사 물고기컴퍼니에 따르면, 임영웅은 21일 서울 올림픽대로 여의도 방향 반포대교 인근에서 발생한 교통사고를 최초로 목격 후 신고했다. 이후 현장에서 의식을 잃고 쓰러진 운전자에게 심폐소생술을 하는 등의 응급조치를 취했다.
이와 관련해 임영웅 측은 “임영웅이 스케줄을 끝내고 이동하던 중 교통사고 현장을 목격했다. 당시 길이 많이 막혔는데 저희 차량이 사고 현장에서 가까운 쪽에 있었고, 차를 세우고 상황을 확인한 뒤 119에 신고하는 등 빠르게 대처해 부상자를 도울 수 있었다”며 “누구라도 그런 상황을 맞는다면 똑같이 도왔을 것이다. 당연할 일로 여기고 있다”고 밝혔다.
특히 심폐소생술로 교통사고 운전자를 구조한 임영웅은 사고 현장에 도착한 119 구조대에게 부상자를 무사히 인계한 뒤 자리를 떠난 것으로 전해졌다.
한편, 임영웅은 지난 23일 서울 구로구 고척스카이돔에서 개최된 ‘제31회 하이원 서울가요대상’에서 본상, 인기상, OST상, 트로트상 등을 차지하며 4관왕에 올랐다.
