베트남 찾은 이재용 부회장, “위기 속에서 기회를 찾아내자”

이재용 삼성전자 부회장이 지난 19일부터 22일까지 4일간 베트남을 방문해 하노이에 건설 중인 베트남 R&D센터 공사 현장을 살펴보고, 삼성전자 및 삼성디스플레이 등의 현지 사업을 점검했다.
 
이번 출장에는 한종희 삼성전자 영상디스플레이사업부장 사장, 노태문 무선사업부장 사장, 이재승 생활가전사업부장, 이동훈 삼성디스플레이 사장 등이 동행했다.

 

이 부회장은 20일과 21일 하노이 인근 박닌과 타이응웬에 위치한 삼성 복합단지를 찾아 사업 현황을 보고 받고, 스마트폰과 디스플레이 생산공장 등을 점검했다.

 

이후 22일에는 호치민에서 삼성전자의 TV 및 생활가전 생산공장을 살펴보고 중장기 사업 전략을 논의했다.
 
앞서 이 부회장은 20일 응우옌 쑤언 푹(Nguyen Xuan Phuc) 베트남 총리와 면담을 갖고, ‘베트남 R&D센터’ 신축 공사 현장을 직접 찾아 점검하기도 했다.

 

삼성전자는 올해 3월 하노이에 동남아 최대 규모(지상 16층/지하3층, 연면적 약 8만㎡)인 베트남 R&D센터 건설을 시작했으며, 2022년말 완공할 계획이다. 이곳에는 스마트폰과 태블릿 등 모바일기기 관련 소프트웨어 및 하드웨어 R&D 인력 3000여명이 근무할 예정이다.

 

이 부회장은 “포스트 코로나 시대에 어떤 큰 변화가 닥치더라도 기민하게 대응할 수 있는 실력을 키우고, 위기 속에서 기회를 찾아내야 한다”며 “뒤쳐지는 이웃이 없도록 주위도 살피며, 조금만 힘을 더 내서 함께 미래로 나아가자”고 말했다.

 

삼성은 △베트남 주요 대학과의 산학협력 △기능올림픽 국가대표의 훈련 지원 △베트남 기업 생산성 향상을 위한 컨설팅 실시 △제조전문 컨설턴트 및 금형전문가 양성 △방과후 학교인 삼성희망학교 운영 등 인재 육성과 지역사회 CSR 활동도 진행하고 있다.

 

한편, 이 부회장은 2018년 10월에도 베트남을 방문해 삼성의 베트남 사업을 점검했으며, 2012년 10월에는 이건희 삼성전자 회장과 함께 베트남 박닌 공장을 찾아 스마트폰 생산현장을 살펴보고 임직원들을 격려한 바 있다.
