브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 2015년 이후 올해 상반기까지 5년 반 동안 보고된 독감백신 사망사례 보고 건수는 15건으로 집계됐다. 그러나 이 중 백신과의 인과관계가 확인된 한건도 없었다.
22일 국회 보건복지위원회 남인순 더불어민주당 의원이 식품의약품안전처에서 받은 자료에 따르면 지난 5년 반 동안 총 1만3769건의 이상사례가 보고됐다. 한 해 평균 2700건이다. 독감 백신의 주요 이상사례는 주사부위통증, 근육통, 피로 등이다.
이와 관련 식약처는 "독감백신 관련 사망 보고 건수는 지난해 접종해 올해 1월 보고된 1건을 비롯해 총 15건"이라며 "하지만 인과관계가 확인된 건은 없었다"고 설명했다.
식약처는 이어 "국내 독감 백신은 허가 시 안전성·유효성 자료를 심사해 안전성과 유효성이 확보된 의약품"이라며 "독감백신 접종 후 사망 보고건수는 최근 5년간 15건, 최근 10년간 17건이며 인과관계가 확인된 건은 역시 하나도 없었다"고 밝혔다.
그러나 남 의원은 최근 독감백신 접종 후 사망사례가 9건 보고된 것과 관련, 과도한 공포감을 경계하는 한편 이상반응 모니터링을 강화해야 한다고 주문했다.
남 의원은 “백신에 대한 불안감이 커진 와중에 독감백신 접종 후 사망사례가 잇따라 발생해 국민적 불안감이 증폭되고 있다”며 “전문가들은 사망과 같은 독감백신 이상사례는 아주 예외적인 경우이며, 대부분 인과관계가 밝혀지지 않거나 이상사례의 원인이 백신이 아닌 경우가 많다고 밝히고 있다. 같은 의료기관에서 접종한 다른 분들에게서 특별한 이상사례가 없는 것으로 보아 과도한 공포감은 경계해야 한다”고 말했다.
그는 “향후 독감백신 접종 후 이상반응 모니터링을 강화해야 한다”며 “사망사례나 중증 이상반응 사례 등에 대해 백신과의 연관성 여부를 철저히 규명해 연관성이 확인될 경우 피해보상 등 절차를 제대로 진행해야 한다”고 강조했다.
