브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 법무부가 라임 사태 핵심 피의자로 꼽히는 김봉현 전 스타모빌리티 회장에게 접대 받은 검사들을 특정 짓고서 검찰에 수사 의뢰했다.
법무부는 19일 "김봉현 전 스타모빌리티 대표가 검사와 검찰수사관들에게 금품 및 향응을 제공한 비위 의혹에 대해 다수의 검사 및 검찰수사관 관련 중대 비위로, 검찰 자체 감찰로는 공정성을 인정받기 어렵다고 판단해 즉시 법무부장관 지시로 직접감찰에 착수했다"고 밝혔다.
이어 "김 전 대표를 직접 조사하는 등 감찰 결과, 금품 및 향응을 접대 받았다는 의혹이 있는 일부 대상자들을 특정했다"면서 "향후 신속한 수사 필요성이 인정되는 사안으로 판단돼 본건 수사에 착수한 서울남부지검 대상자에 대해 뇌물수수 및 부정청탁금지법 위반 등으로 수사의뢰했다"고 밝혔다.
법무부는 또한 "관련 수사 진행 경과를 참고해 나머지 비위 의혹에 대해도 그 진상 규명을 위해 계속 감찰을 진행할 예정"이라고 전했다.
한편 법무부는 김 전 대표의 옥중서신이 공개된 16일부터 사흘간 직접 감찰 조사를 진행한 것으로 전해졌다. 감찰에는 박은정 검찰담당관 등 법무부 감찰 인력 상당수가 투입된 것으로 알려졌다.

김봉현 전 회장은 지난 16일 '사건개요정리' 문서를 공개, 자신의 사건 무마 등을 위해 법조계에 로비를 벌였다고 주장했다. 여기엔 건너간 돈의 액수, 상대방을 특정할 수 있는 배경 등이 적혔다. 문서는 지난달 작성된 것으로 전해졌다.
문서에는 구체적으로는 2019년 7월께 A변호사와 검사 3명에게 청담동 소재 유흥업소에서 1000만원 상당의 술 접대를 했다고 기록됐다. 그리고 이 3명 중 1명이 이후 라임 수사팀에 들어왔다고 주장했다.
법무부는 전날 입장문을 통해 "관련 의혹에 대한 수사가 제대로 이뤄지지 않은 사실을 확인했다"면서 "(윤석열 검찰총장이) 야권 정치인 및 검사 비위에 대해서는 구체적 비위사실을 보고받고도 여권 인사와는 달리 철저히 수사하도록 지휘하지 않았다는 의혹 등 그 관련성을 배제할 수 없다"고 지적했다.
그러면서 "현재까지의 감찰조사 결과와 제기되는 비위 의혹의 내용을 종합적으로 고려해 현재 진행 중인 감찰과 별도로 수사 주체와 방식을 검토하고 있다"고 덧붙였다.
이에 대검찰청 역시 즉각 입장을 내고 "윤석열 검찰총장은 이와 같이 해당 의혹들에 대해 철저한 수사를 지시했다. 법무부의 발표 내용은 전혀 사실에 근거하지 않은 내용"이라며 "검찰총장에 대한 중상모략과 다름 없으며 전혀 납득하기 어렵다"고 반박했다.
