시는 2019년부터 매년 우수한 고용 실적과 근로자 복지 증진에 힘쓴 관내 중소기업을 선정하고 있으며, 올해까지 총 64개사를 선정했다.

주요 평가지표는 일자리 성장성과 안정성, 기업경영 건전성, 직원복지와 사회공헌 활동 등이다.

인증기업에는 △인증서와 현판 수여 △근로환경개선금(1,000만원) 지원 △중소기업육성자금 우대금리 0.5% 지원 △지방세 세무조사 유예(최대 3년) △중소기업 지원시책 우선 적용 등의 혜택이 주어진다.

지난 8월 공고와 함께 신청기업을 접수해 1차 서류심사, 2차 현장심사, 일자리 우수기업 인증 심사위원회 의결을 거쳐 △(유)성문 △삼성금속(주) △(주)금륜이엔지 △(주)엠제이인더스트리 △신세기메디텍(주) △(주)행성 진례공장 △(주)네오테크 △(주)대현상공 △제일전자공업(주) 9개 기업을 선정했다.
