광주시, 실감콘텐츠 문화산업 인재 키운다

시, 교육‧연구기관‧기업 등 41곳과 ‘실감콘텐츠 교육협의체’ 협약·포럼… ‘트렌드 선도’ 지역, 수도권 실감콘텐츠 선도·유망기업 다수 포함

(광주=브레이크뉴스) 이학수 기자= 광주시가 실감콘텐츠 미래인재 양성을 위한 산·학·관 협업체계를 구축, ‘미래 문화산업 융합인재도시 광주’ 실현에 앞장선다.


광주시는 지난 13일 남구 광주실감콘텐츠큐브(GCC)에서 산·학·연·관 관계자 150여 명이 참석한 가운데 총 41개 기관·기업과 실감콘텐츠 분야 인재양성을 위한 ‘실감콘텐츠 교육 협의체’ 업무협약을 체결했다. 미래 실감콘텐츠 산업과 인재양성을 주제로 한 포럼도 함께 개최했다.


1부 행사로 진행된 업무협약에는 광주시와 광주정보문화산업진흥원을 비롯해 조선대·호남대·광주대·GIST(광주과학기술원)연구원·전남대 산학협력단·경희대 산학협력단 등 교육·연구기관 9곳, 기업체 31곳(광주 13·지역 외 18곳)이 참여했다.


특히 수도권에서 실감콘텐츠 분야 트렌드를 선도하고 있는 전문기업이 상당수 참여해 기대감을 높였다.


주요 협약기업으로 ▲IT 신기술 개발·운용 기업 ㈜CJ올리브네트웍스▲드라마 ‘재벌집 막내아들’ 제작에 참여한 VFX·뉴미디어 전문기업 ㈜위지윅스튜디오▲테마파크 ‘아르떼뮤지엄’ 등 디지털 기술과 공간 활용 콘텐츠 제작기업 ㈜디스트릭트▲걸그룹 ‘에스파’ 가상아바타 등 영상 VFX 및 리얼타임콘텐츠 제작 기업 ㈜자이언트스텝▲가상인간 ‘로지’, 드라마 ‘유미의 세포들’속 3D 애니메이션을 제작한 ㈜로커스▲언리얼엔진 활용 콘솔게임 개발 기업㈜에픽게임즈코리아 등 굵직한 콘텐츠 기업들이 참여했다.


주요 협약내용은 ▲미래 실감콘텐츠산업 인력양성 및 공급을 위한 협업체계 구축 ▲실감콘텐츠 인력양성 교육서비스 발굴 ▲GCC 장비·시설 활용을 통한 프로젝트 및 교육운영 협력 ▲실감콘텐츠 산업에 필요한 자원 확보 및 국가공모사업 유치 등 지속가능한 협력사업 발굴 등이다.


협약식에 이어 진행된 포럼에서는 ‘메타버스 산업 환경과 변화’, ‘콘텐츠 제작의 미래’를 주제로 한 전문가들의 발표와 ‘미래 실감콘텐츠 산업과 인재’를 주제로 한 토론이 진행됐다.


시는 이번 협약과 포럼 개최를 시작으로, 실감콘텐츠 관련 분야 인재양성을 위해 기업·대학 등과 연계한 온·오프라인 교육이 가능토록 웹 기반 교육 플랫폼을 조성하고 광주실감콘텐츠큐브(GCC)에 교육실습용 스튜디오 조성을 비롯해 오프라인 교육장 두 곳을 구축할 예정이다.


또 산학 연계 ‘팀프로젝트’를 추진해 교육생들이 수료 후 포트폴리오 제작 및 기업 실무에 참여할 기회를 부여하고 취·창업과 연계될 수 있도록 지원할 계획이다.


한편 광주시는 민선 8기 주요 정책으로 광주 5대 신활력벨트 중 하나인 ‘효천역 디지털 콘텐츠벨트’를 조성해 문화산업 투자환경 및 생태계의 선순환 체계 구축을 위해 노력하고 있다.


특히 ‘아시아문화중심도시 조성에 관한 특별법’에 따라 국내 유일의 문화산업 투자진흥지구를 운영하고 있는 광주시는 투자진흥지구 내 유망 콘텐츠기업을 유치·지원하고, 지난해 11월 개관한 광주실감콘텐츠큐브(GCC) 등 지역 문화산업 인프라를 활용해 문화콘텐츠 창·제작, 기술 테스트베드, 기업 성장지원 및 전문인력 양성 등을 추진할 계획이다.
