브레이크뉴스 임국정 기자 = '불법 레이싱' 의혹을 강력 부인해온 장예찬 국민의힘 청년 최고위원 후보가 '위험하게 와인딩을 즐겼다'는 내용의 글을 스스로 올렸던 것으로 2일 확인됐다. 해당 글은 현재 사라진 상태다.
이날 브레이크뉴스 취재를 종합하면 장 후보는 2014년 7월 9일 자신의 사회관계망서비스(SNS)에 "단속 대상으로 따지면 차가 없는 시간이라 해도 위험하게 와인딩(굽잇길을 빠르게 운전하는 행위)을 즐기는 내가 제1순위일 것"이라고 적었다. 그는 "Team Swift(팀 스위프트) 서울지부 남산 번개를 앞두고"로 시작하는 글에서 이같이 밝혔다.
팀 스위프트는 장 후보가 2013년 10월 만든 뒤 직접 운영했었던 것으로 알려진 자동차 관련 모임이다. 장 후보를 비롯한 해당 모임 관계자들이 일반 도로에서 드래그 레이싱(직선 도로에서 이뤄지는 단거리 자동차 경주), 와인딩 등 불법 레이싱을 한 것으로 이날 알려지며 논란이 일었다.
장 후보가 한 '위험하게 와인딩' 발언은 최근 자신이 내놓은 해명과는 정면 배치되는 내용이다. 장 후보는 불법 레이싱 의혹과 관련해 "전혀 불법은 없었다"는 입장을 견지해왔다. 장 후보는 이날 브레이크뉴스와의 연락에서도 "이미 여러 번 밝힌 것처럼 불법 행위 없는 친구들의 순수한 동호회 활동이었고, 음주운전 2회 후보를 '개혁'이라 말하는 이준석 (전 국민의힘 대표) 측에서 이런 저질 네거티브를 하는 게 어이없다는 입장"이라고 답했다. '고속 주행 같은 위험한 행동은 없었냐'는 질문에도 "그렇다"며 "아무 증거도 없다"고 말했다.
하지만 장 후보는 자신이 페이스북에 적은 '위험하게 와인딩' 발언에 대해서는 "너무 오래전 일이라 일일이 기억이 안 난다"고 해명했다. 그는 "제가 직접 위험한 주행을 한 기억은 없다"며 "남산 길을 늦은 시간에 주행하는 것 자체가 불법은 아니라고 생각한다. 제가 작가이다 보니 감상적인 글을 원래 많이 남기고 했다"고 덧붙였다.
브레이크뉴스가 이날 장 후보와 연락을 나눈 직후, '전체 공개'였던 문제의 글은 더 이상 보이지 않는 상태로 바뀌었다. 삭제 혹은 비공개 처리된 것으로 보인다.

그는 이어 "그래서 국산차를 타다 처음 독일차를 타게 되면 일단 두껍고 무거운 문짝에 놀라고, 다음으로는 스티어링의 묵직함에 놀라며 마지막으로 차가 땅에 묵직하게 깔리는 느낌에 놀라게 된다"며 "엑셀을 밟으면 무서울 정도로 차가 튀어나가고, 코너와 고속에서의 핸들링은 절대 둔하지 않지만 그럼에도 묵직하다는 느낌을 내내 받게 되니 놀라운 것"이라고도 했다.
또, 2013년 12월 24일 작성한 글의 댓글에서는 지인이 "자전거(를) 타라"고 하자 장 후보는 "자전거로 시속 200 내면 그때 탈게"라고 답변하기도 했다.
