윤석열 대통령이 2일 서울 중구 주한 중국대사관에 마련된 고 장쩌민 전 중국국가주석 분향소를 찾아 조문했다고 대통령실이 전했다.
이재명 대통령실 부대변인은 이날 서면브리핑에서 윤 대통령이 헌화·묵념으로 장 전 주석을 추모했다고 전했다.
윤 대통령은 싱 하이밍 주중대사에게 "작년 노태우 전 대통령 그리고 올해 장쩌민 주석까지 한·중간 다리놓은 분들이 세상을 떠나셨다"며 "이제 후대가 잘 이어 (한·중 관계를) 발전시켜 나가자"라고 말했다.
이에 싱 하이밍 대사는 "한·중 관계를 보다 진전시키도록 많이 도와달라"고 화답했다.

윤 대통령은 조문록에 '한·중 수교를 비롯해 양국 관계 발전에 크게 기여하신 장쩌민 전 중국 국가주석의 영면을 기원하며, 유가족과 중국 국민에게 깊은 애도와 추모의 뜻을 표합니다'라고 적었다.
