The Ukrainian embassy in Korea donated money to overcome the damage caused by heavy rains in the central region.

Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association (President Song Pil-ho) announced on the 16th that the Ukrainian embassy had entrusted them with a 1 million won donation.

Ukrainian Ambassador to Korea Dmitro Ponomarenko, who visited Hope Bridge in Mapo-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of the same day, said, "To repay the hearts of the Korean people for Ukraine suffering from war, we have collected a donation with all our heart and sincerity with our staff." It is not, but I am grateful to be able to convey a warm heart.”

Hope Bridge has so far raised about 700 million won to help refugees who have fled to neighboring countries or domestically in Ukraine. Earlier, in March, five employees sent over 1,000 packages of food and medicines and 50,000 items to Ukraine through locals and Korean pastors and missionaries from Psemisil, on the border of Ukraine and Poland. Journalists reporting on the plight of Ukraine have also helped, and they are pursuing a plan to support living expenses for Koreans living in Ukraine.

Hope Bridge Secretary-General Kim Jeong-hee said, “I am deeply grateful to Ambassador Dmitro Ponomarenko and the Ukrainian Embassy in Korea who have given their hearts to our people despite the suffering of war for nearly six months. I will do my best,” he said.

Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association, an organization specializing in disaster relief fundraising, is a purely private organization established in 1961 by newspapers, broadcasters, and social groups across the country, and is the only legal relief organization that can support domestic natural disaster relief funds.

In particular, it has been highly trusted by transparently distributing and executing public donations, such as receiving the highest rating in the transparency and financial stability evaluations for public interest corporations announced by Korea Guide Star, an evaluation agency for public interest corporations.
