파주시 임진강예술단, 남과 북이 함께하는 페스티벌 음악회 개최

- 평화를 염원하는 문화예술 교류의 장 마련

파주시(시장 김경일)는 파주시 임진강예술단(대표 백영숙)이 23일 시민회관 대공연장에서 ‘남과 북이 함께하는 페스티벌 음악회’를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

 

이날 행사는 임진강예술단의 창단 8주년을 기념하는 행사로 탈북민, 지역주민 등 500명을 초청해 남과 북의 문화 공감대를 형성하는 시간을 가졌다.

행사는 1부와 2부로 나눠 진행했으며, 1부에서는 북한이탈주민 정착을 위해 애써주신 지역 인사에게 표창장을 수여하고, 탈북민 가정 청소년들에게 장학금 및 장학증서를 전달했다.

 

2부에서는 남한의 대중음악, 북한의 전통무용, 소해금 연주 등 남북한 합동 공연을 펼쳐 북한이탈주민과 지역주민이 함께 평화를 염원하는 화합의 공간을 마련했다.

 

백영숙 임진강예술단 대표는 “2014년 창단 이후 예술단을 이끌어 오기까지 많은 분들의 응원과 지지 덕분에 지금 이 자리가 가능했다”며 “앞으로도 임진강예술단은 남북 간 문화교류와 소통에 이바지하는 다양한 활동에 매진하겠다”고 감사를 전했다.

김경일 파주시장은 “임진강예술단은 전국을 누비는 전문예술단체로서 위상이 날로 높아지는 가운데 지역사회와 소외계층을 위한 봉사활동도 솔선수범하고 있다”며 “평화·통일의 공감대 형성과 지역사회를 포용하는 멋진 활동을 기대한다”고 말했다.

 

한편, 북한문화예술공연 전문단체인 임진강예술단은 2014년 창단 후 관내 거주 탈북민을 중심으로 북한에서 예술 활동을 했던 예술인 20명으로 구성됐으며, 전국 각 지역에서 북한 전통 무용과 노래 등 북한 문화와 예술을 널리 알려온 전문예술단체다.파주=박정호기자
