여수 예울마루, 장도 창작스튜디오 3기 입주

GS칼텍스 여수 예울마루(예울마루)가 예술의 섬 장도 창작스튜디오 3기 입주작가를 선정하고 지난 10일과 11일 이틀간 오리엔테이션 시간을 가지며 본격적인 사업을 시작한다고 16일 밝혔다.

예울마루는 미술계 전문가인 이임수 홍익대 교수, 최승현 아트익스테이션 대표, 홍경한 평론가와 함께 서류 및 면접 PT심사 등을 거쳐 장기 입주작가로 김방주, 사윤택, 서국화 작가를 선정했다.

이에 따라 선정된 작가들은 창작공간인 스튜디오 1동과 숙소 1실을 비롯해 창작금을 지원받으면서 한해 동안 평론가 매칭, 프리뷰전, 오픈 스튜디오, 결과보고전 개최 기회를 얻으며 창작활동을 이어나가게 된다.

다만 단기 입주작가는 자체발굴, 관계기관 추천, 미술계 전문가 의견을 반영해 강운, 정현, 지성배 작가를 초청해 스튜디오 1동과 숙소 1실, 창작금 지원을 받으며 결과보고 전시를 개최하게 된다.

또 창작스튜디오 전체 4개 동 중 3개 동은 1년 동안 장기 입주작가들의 작업 공간으로 지원하고 나머지 1개 동은 단기 입주작가들의 창작 활동을 지원할 예정이다.

장기 입주작가로 선정된 김방주 작가는 국내 각지를 비롯해 터키 이스탄불, 스위스 취리히, 독일 베를린 등 국내외에서 흥미로운 퍼포먼스, 설치, 영상 작업과 프로젝트를 이어온 작가다.

사윤택 작가는 중앙미술대전 올해의 선정작가(2006), JW중외청년미술상 최우수상 수상작가로 끊임없이 회화작업에 천착하며 회화의 한계와 그 너머에 대한 고민을 지속하고 있는 작가이다.
