100 million won was found on the floor of the kimchi refrigerator, and the owner died in September last year.

In connection with the discovery of 100 million won in cash on the floor of a used kimchi refrigerator in August, the police found the owner of the money, but it has already been confirmed that he died in September last year.

The Jeju Western Police Station said on the 28th, "We found the owner of 110 million won in cash attached to the floor of the used kimchi refrigerator," adding, "The owner of the money was A, a woman in her 60s who lived in Seoul, who died of chronic disease in September last year."

Buyers of kimchi refrigerators purchased used kimchi refrigerators through a used goods company in Seoul in August and received them at their homes in Jeju. While cleaning the refrigerator that had been delivered, the buyer found a bundle of plastic bills attached to the floor with tape and tore them off, and they were filled with a bundle of 50,000 won bills.

As a result of the investigation, it was confirmed that all assets, including insurance money disposed of before A's death, were attached to the bottom of the refrigerator. When A died, the bereaved family called in a waste company to clean up the artifacts, and the company said it did not check the plastic attached to the bottom of the refrigerator, believing that it was to level it up. The bereaved family also did not know that A had put cash under the refrigerator during his lifetime.

The police found A's handwriting on the envelope containing cash and asked the National Forensic Service to evaluate it, and judged that A's money was certain based on the fact that the pharmacy envelope found in the refrigerator matched the hospital where A attended and the pharmacy.

Accordingly, the police plan to return the cash found in accordance with the procedure for handling lost objects to the right holder, including the bereaved family. Meanwhile, reporters who find cash can receive compensation of 5-20% under the Lost and Found Act.
