Song Young-gil urged the candidates to refrain from making regionalist remarks.

Song Young-gil, chairman of the main opposition Democratic Party of Korea, urged restraint on the 26th, saying, "It is very regrettable that there is a controversy over regionalism among Democratic Party candidates," regarding Lee Jae-myung and Lee Nak-yeon's remarks.

Song of the above matter, "Kim Dae-jung president since the Moon Jae-in, Roh Moo-hyun, president of a time when regionalism's Democratic Party, at least, we cross the river." in the supreme council meeting held in the National Assembly.

Earlier in a media interview, Governor Lee Jae-myung said, "In the 5,000-year history of the Korean Peninsula, Baekje (Honam) has never been the main body and integrated the entire Korean Peninsula." In response, Lee Nak-yeon, former representative of the party, strongly criticized the case, calling it a "no-negotiation of candidates for Honam."

"Localism has no place to step up," Song Young-gil said. "We should not go back to the river of regionalism. Let's do it together in one team spirit."

Song also looked positively at the recent presidential race, saying that more and more people want to regain power. "As a result of the Democratic Party's hard work, according to a recent KSOI-TBS survey, 48.4 percent of the people who want to change their regime and 44.5 percent of the ruling party should take charge of policy permanence have been reduced by 3.9 percentage points," he said.

"Our people are opening their minds little by little to the leadership that works hard for the people's livelihoods," he said. "We will take the lead in bringing about cooperation between the ruling and opposition parties and making the 21st National Assembly a parliament for the people." "We will do our best to gain the people's trust again and continue development without a cut in state affairs on March 9 (next year)."

The KSOI poll, which was quoted, was conducted from 23rd to 24th and released on Wednesday. More details can be found on the website of the National Election Opinion Review Committee website.
