28일 진천읍 소재 하나님의교회 관계자는 진천군청을 방문해 지역 취약계층을 위해 사용해 달라며 식료품세트 15개(60만원 상당)을 전달했다.
식료품 세트는 이웃들의 속을 든든히 채워줄 곰탕, 삼계탕, 쇠고기국밥, 라면, 컵밥, 전복죽, 참치 등으로 꾸려졌다.
하나님의 교회는 매년 명절에 맞춰 이웃들에게 식료품과 생필품, 방한용품 등을 전하며 지속적인 사랑을 실천해왔다.
물품을 기부한 교회 관계자는 “코로나19로 힘든 시기를 보내고 있는 지역 주민들의 넉넉한 명절을 위해서 물품 기탁을 결정했다”며 “하루빨리 평안한 일상이 도래하도록 지속적인 나눔 활동을 이어 나가겠다” 고 말했다.
뿐만 아니라 지난 22일 진천읍 소강정마을 민세기 이장은 진천읍행정복지센터를 방문해 백미 200kg를 기탁했다.
민 이장은 “올해 갑작스런 장마와 태풍으로 농경 작업이 힘들었지만 저보다 더 어려운 이웃들을 위해 도움이 되고 싶어 직접 생산한 햅쌀을 전달하게 됐다”며 “관내 주민들이 따뜻한 명절을 보내길 바란다” 고 말했다.
