브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= HD현대중공업이 500MW급 태안 해상풍력단지에 설치될 해상변전소 건설 사업에 착수한다.
HD현대중공업은 2일 ㈜태안풍력발전과 태안 해상변전소의 설계·조달·제작·설치·시운전을 수행하는 프로젝트 계약을 체결했다고 밝혔다.
㈜태안풍력발전은 싱가포르 재생에너지 기업 뷔나에너지(Vena Energy)와 덴마크 그린에너지 투자개발사 코펜하겐 인프라스트럭처 파트너스(CIP), 한국서부발전이 설립한 합작법인이다.
이번 사업은 태안군 가의도리 인근 해상에 조성되는 500MW급 해상풍력단지에서 생산한 전력의 전압을 높여 육상으로 송전하는 해상변전소를 건설하는 프로젝트다.
HD현대중공업은 지난 3월 사전설계계약을 시작으로 7월 우선공급계약을 체결했으며, 세부 협의를 거쳐 이번 본계약을 체결했다.
HD현대중공업은 앞서 지난해 노르웨이선급(DNV)으로부터 자체 개발한 500MW급 해상변전소 모델의 기본설계 검증을 받은 데 이어 지난 8월 상세설계 검증도 완료했다.
HD현대중공업 관계자는 “축적된 해양플랜트 역량을 바탕으로 이번 해상변전소 프로젝트를 안정적으로 수행할 것”이라며 “향후 신재생에너지 분야에서 추가 사업 기회를 확보하고 관련 시장 경쟁력을 강화해 나가겠다”고 말했다.

HD Hyundai Heavy Industries is launching a project to construct an offshore substation for the 500MW Taean offshore wind farm.
