【브레이크뉴스 울릉】전종환 기자=울릉군민들의 화합과 소통의 장인 제57회 울릉군민체육대회가 지난 9월 30일 울릉공설운동장에서 성황리에 열렸다.
울릉군체육회 주최·주관으로 열린 이번 대회에는 관내 기관·단체 등이 후원했으며, 8개 선수단이 참가해 종목별 경기를 펼쳤다.
개막식은 장흥농악단의 길놀이 공연을 시작으로 선수단 입장과 공호식 울릉군체육회장의 대회사, 성화 점화 순으로 진행됐다. 성화 주자로는 2023년 리뉴얼된 울릉군 대표 캐릭터 ‘오기동이’와 ‘해호랑이’가 선정됐다.
지난 8월 29일부터 9월 26일까지 사전경기 10종목과 본경기 8종목으로 진행된 대회에서 일반부 우승은 서면선수단이 차지했다. 서면은 2024년과 2025년에 이어 3년 연속 우승을 기록했다. 2위는 북면선수단, 3위는 저동선수단이 차지했다.
직장부에서는 8개 기관·단체가 참가한 가운데 울릉경찰서가 1위에 올랐으며, 118조기경보전대와 울릉고등학교가 각각 2위와 3위를 기록했다.
특히 올해 대회에도 향우회가 3년 연속 연합팀을 구성해 참가하면서 지역민들과 교류하고 선의의 경쟁을 펼쳤다.
남한권 울릉군수는 “경쟁을 떠나 서로 응원하고 격려하며 건강한 땀방울로 화합을 다지는 축제의 장이 되기를 바란다”고 말했다.

The competition, which took place from August 29 to September 26, included 10 preliminary events and 8 main events. The Seo-myeon team won the general division, marking their third consecutive victory (including 2024 and 2025). The Buk-myeon team took second place, while the Jeodong team finished third.
In the workplace division, eight institutions and organizations competed; the Ulleung Police Station took first place, followed by the 118th Early Warning Squadron in second place and Ulleung High School in third.
Notably, the Association of Ulleung Natives (Hyang-u-hoe) formed a joint team for the third consecutive year, engaging with local residents and participating in friendly competition.
Ulleung County Mayor Nam Han-kwon stated, "I hope this festival serves as an occasion to strengthen harmony through healthy sweat, where we cheer for and encourage one another beyond mere competition."
