[Poem] My Destiny
- Poet Moon Il-suk
As I live in this world,
there are three things I am not good at.
While living in Manhattan, New York,
I learned golf from the very instructor
who had taught Kim Hyung-wook, the Director of the KCIA.
Yet, I do not play golf;
I feel it is a waste of time to go out onto the course.
I am not good at dancing; I cannot surrender my body to the rhythm.
So, the only dance I do is the disco—
all it takes is swaying along to the music.
I am not good at singing; I am practically tone-deaf.
Yet, I belt out songs at the top of my lungs,
for my voice is louder than most others'.
To wish to excel but fall short—this is my destiny.
And that is why I acknowledge others.
