대전시가 시정 전반의 인공지능 전환(AX)을 총괄하고 미래 전략을 수립할 컨트롤타워인 ‘대전시 AI혁신전략위원회’를 공식 출범시켰다.
대전시는 10일 시청 중회의실에서 제1차 회의를 열고 산·학·연 전문가 등 9명의 위원 위촉식과 함께 민선 9기 AI 혁신전략 추진 계획을 심의했다.
위원회는 허태정 대전시장과 최성율 KAIST 연구부총장이 공동위원장을 맡으며, 산업계·학계·연구계 전문가 및 시 간부 등 총 12명으로 구성됐다.
위원회는 향후 대전시 AI 정책 기본계획 수립부터 성과 평가, 제도 개선, 인프라 확충에 이르기까지 AI 관련 정책 전반을 종합 심의·의결하게 된다.
현장 밀착형 실행력을 확보하기 위한 체계도 구축된다.
대전시는 사회·행정 ,도시·안전 ,과학·산업 ,교육·인재·윤리 등 4개 분과위원회를 두고, 외부 전문가와 전담 공무원이 함께하는 실무 협의체(워킹그룹)를 가동한다. 이를 통해 ‘방산 AX 클러스터 조성’, ‘AI 반도체 거점 육성’, ‘스마트 재난·안전망 구축’ 등 민선 9기 핵심 공약을 구체적인 정책으로 실현할 계획이다.
행정 조직 및 제도적 기틀 마련도 병행된다. 시는 3급 조직인 ‘AI혁신국’을 중심으로 시정 과제를 총괄 지휘하며, 내년 1월 공포를 목표로 ‘대전광역시 인공지능 기본 조례’ 제정에 속도를 내고 있다.
허태정 대전시장은 “AI혁신전략위원회를 통해 반도체·방산·바이오·우주 등 대전의 미래 전략산업을 AI 기반으로 대전환하겠다”며 “전문가들의 지혜를 모아 대전을 세계적인 AI 선도도시로 자리매김시키겠다”고 밝혔다.
