<브레이크뉴스 양주 = 김일웅 기자> 양주시가 10일 시청 상황실에서 ‘양주시 지역사회보장계획 수립 연구용역 최종보고회’를 개최하고 2027년부터 2030년까지 추진할 제6기 지역사회보장계획의 주요 내용과 방향성을 심도 있게 논의했다고 밝혔다.
■ 지역 특성·시민 복지 수요 반영한 4년 단위 법정 계획 수립
이날 보고회에는 최용석 양주시 지역사회보장협의체 공동위원장을 비롯해 협의체 위원, 관계 공무원, 연구용역 수행기관 관계자 등 40여 명이 참석해 연구용역 결과를 꼼꼼히 공유했다.
‘지역사회보장계획’은 관련 법률에 따라 4년마다 수립하는 법정 계획이다. 지역 특성과 주민의 세밀한 복지 수요를 적극 반영해 지역사회보장 증진을 위한 정책 방향과 추진 과제를 담아낸다.

■ "시민 체감할 수 있는 실질적 변화 이끌 것"… 9월 말 최종 확정
이번 연구용역에서는 양주시의 인구·사회·경제적 여건과 복지자원 현황을 면밀히 분석하고, 시민과 관계기관을 대상으로 한 욕구조사 및 의견수렴을 거쳐 주요 현안과 정책 수요를 도출했다. 시는 연구용역 결과와 이날 제시된 다양한 의견을 검토·보완한 뒤, 대표협의체 심의와 시의회 보고 등 법정 절차를 밟아 오는 9월 말 제6기 계획을 최종 확정할 예정이다.
최용석 공동위원장은 “이번 계획이 시민들의 삶에 실질적인 변화를 가져오는 든든한 출발점이 되길 기대한다”며 “민관이 한마음으로 긴밀히 협력해 지역 실정에 꼭 맞는 촘촘한 복지안전망을 구축해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
시 관계자 역시 “다양해지는 복지 수요에 효과적으로 대응하기 위해 지역 여건을 반영한 체계적인 계획 수립이 무엇보다 중요하다”며 “시민이 일상에서 체감할 수 있는 지역사회보장정책을 흔들림 없이 추진하겠다”고 덧붙였다.
한편, 이날 보고회에서는 청렴문화 확산을 위한 청탁금지법 홍보와 청렴 실천 의지를 굳건히 다지는 시간도 함께 마련돼 눈길을 끌었다.
