이번 현장 점검은 최근 서울 지역 내 소나무재선충병 확산 우려가 커짐에 따라 마련됐다. 송 청장은 서초구 지역의 재선충병 방제 추진 현황을 꼼꼼히 확인하고, 서울 전역으로 병해충이 확산하지 않도록 철저한 방제를 현장에 당부했다.
또한, 지방자치단체를 비롯한 관계기관 간의 긴밀한 협업 체계 구축과 지속적이고 선제적인 예찰 활동이 그 어느 때보다 필수적임을 거듭 강조했다.
