[Here is the English version of the article] Korea Ocean Business Corporation Expands Support for Korean Firms Seeking Logistics Hubs in Europe

The Korea Ocean Business Corporation held a global logistics and supply chain investment briefing in Poland on Sept. 8, outlining plans to expand financial support and co-investment opportunities for Korean companies seeking to establish logistics hubs in Europe.

The corporation, known as KOBC, hosted the event at the Zamek Topacz Hotel in Poland for companies, investors and related organizations involved in logistics, ports and supply chains.

KOBC holds investment briefings each year in major overseas markets to provide Korean companies with information on local logistics markets and explore ways to support their overseas expansion. It held a similar event in Vietnam in December last year and in the United States in June this year before holding this year’s event in Poland.

The Poland event focused on helping Korean companies build logistics networks in Europe and strengthen supply chain stability as more Korean manufacturers and logistics companies expand into the region.

During the briefing, KOBC introduced its major business programs and support measures, as well as the current status of its global logistics and supply chain investment funds. Participants also discussed the outlook for the European logistics real estate market and investment and development projects in major logistics regions across Poland.

Samsung SRA Asset Management and Capstone Asset Management presented their global logistics and supply chain investment funds and major assets under management.

Cushman & Wakefield, a global commercial real estate services company, provided an overview of recent trends and the outlook for the European logistics real estate market. GS Engineering & Construction also presented examples of real estate investment and development projects in key regions of Poland.

KOBC said the briefing was intended to help Korean companies better understand the European logistics market and investment environment and identify logistics facilities suited to their business needs. The corporation also discussed potential cooperation with participating companies and investors, including financing and co-investment opportunities linked to Korean companies’ expansion into Europe.

“Securing major logistics hubs ahead of time is an important foundation for stable overseas expansion and stronger supply chain competitiveness as global supply chains continue to be reshaped,” KOBC President Ahn Byung-gil said.

“We will continue to identify high-quality logistics assets in Europe and other major markets and support Korean companies as they expand their overseas logistics infrastructure,” he said.

KOBC also attended the completion ceremony on Sept. 7 for Campus II, a logistics center in Wroclaw, Poland.

Campus II is an asset in which Samsung SRA Asset Management is investing through a global logistics and supply chain investment fund established by KOBC. The logistics center is leased by a number of Korean companies operating in the region.

KOBC plans to continue expanding its local networks and financial support systems in key markets where Korean companies are actively expanding overseas. It will also use various financial instruments, including global logistics and supply chain investment funds, to help Korean companies secure overseas logistics hubs and strengthen the competitiveness of their global supply chains.
