증평군에 따르면 지난달 27일부터 이달 8일까지 2주 동안 충남 태안과 금산, 경기 안산, 경남 거제 등 전국 각지에서 모인 15개 팀, 200여 명의 선수단이 증평에 머물며 하계 전지훈련을 진행했다. 선수단은 증평초등학교 씨름장과 증평군청 인삼씨름장에서 전술 기술훈련을 실시하고, 좌구산휴양림 일대에서 체력 강화 훈련을 병행하며 기량을 끌어올렸다.
