횡성군은 21일 오전 11시 덕고체험휴양마을 운동장에서 정암3리 마을만들기사업 준공식을 성황리에 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이날 준공식은 사업 경과보고를 시작으로 기념행사, 테이프 커팅, 기념 오찬 등의 순으로 진행되며, 주민들이 주도해 이끌어온 지난 3년간의 값진 성과를 함께 축하하고 기념하는 자리로 마련됐다.

정암3리 마을만들기 사업은 지난 2024년 10월 대상 마을로 최종 선정된 이후, 군비 5억 원을 전폭적으로 지원받아 올해까지 3년여에 걸쳐 추진됐다.

군은 이번 사업을 통해 덕고체험휴양마을 운동장을 전면 정비하고 주민과 방문객을 위한 쾌적한 휴식 공간을 조성했다. 특히 야외수영장을 새롭게 신설하고 체험관 내부 환경을 대폭 개선하는 등 체험휴양시설의 전반적인 안전성과 위생, 이용 편의성을 한 단계 끌어올렸다.

새 단장을 마친 덕고체험휴양마을은 세미나실, 식당, 숙소, 수영장, 운동장, 바비큐장, 캠핑장 등 완벽한 인프라를 갖추고 농촌 체험은 물론 기업 워크숍, 학생 수련회 등 다양한 맞춤형 프로그램을 운영할 예정이다.

조원효 정암3리 이장은 “이번 사업을 통해 마을을 찾는 방문객들에게 더욱 쾌적하고 안전한 환경을 제공할 수 있게 되어 기쁘다”며, “시설 이용 편의성이 크게 향상된 만큼, 더 많은 발길이 이어지는 횡성 제일의 농촌체험휴양마을로 자리매김할 것”이라고 기대감을 표했다.
