경상북도축구협회와 문경시축구협회가 공동 주최·주관하는 이번 대회에는 전국 각지의 유소년 클럽팀이 참가한다. U-11과 U-12 부문에 각각 32개 팀씩 모두 64개 팀이 출전해 조별리그 방식으로 경기를 치른다.
대회 일정은 24일부터 26일까지, 이어 28일부터 30일까지 두 차례로 나뉘어 진행된다. 선수들의 안전과 경기력 유지를 고려해 한낮 무더위를 피해 오전 9시부터 낮 12시 30분까지, 오후 5시부터 밤 9시까지 경기가 펼쳐질 예정이다.
대회 기간에는 가족 단위 방문객을 위한 행사도 함께 마련된다. 오는 25일부터 영강체육공원에서는 '2026 문경시 영강어린이 물놀이 축제'가 열려 스포츠 행사와 여름 축제를 연계한 지역 관광 활성화 효과도 기대된다.
