김중위 전 국회의원(4선)이 7월18일 별세했다. 고인은 사상계 편집장, 초대 환경부 장관,4선 국회의원을 지냈다.
1994년 12월부터 1995년 12월까지 재임하며, 환경처에서 환경부로 승격된 직후 조직의 기틀을 다지고 환경 정책을 이끌었다.
