의성군리틀야구단은 지난 6월 27일부터 이달 4일까지 의성군생활체육야구장에서 진행된 ‘2026 제1회 의성 슈퍼푸드배 리틀야구대회’에서 정상에 올랐다.
이번 대회에는 의성군을 비롯해 경주, 김천, 구미, 상주, 안동 등 경북 지역을 대표하는 12개 시·군 리틀야구단이 참가해 열띤 경쟁을 벌였다. 의성군은 결승전에서 만난 경주시를 11대 5로 제압하며 초대 우승의 영예를 안았다. 준우승은 경주시가 차지했으며, 경산시와 안동시는 공동 3위에 이름을 올렸다.
의성군은 이번 대회를 통해 청소년 야구 유망주들의 실력 향상과 교류의 장을 제공하는 성과를 거뒀다. 아울러 다양한 초·중·고교 스포츠단 유치와 자체 리그 지원 등 적극적인 스포츠마케팅을 전개해, 선수단과 가족들의 방문을 유도하며 지역 상권에도 활력을 불어넣었다.

The Uiseong County Little League Team claimed the top spot at the ‘2026 1st Uiseong Superfood Cup Little League Tournament,’ which took place at the Uiseong County Sports Baseball Field from June 27 to the 4th of this month.
Twelve Little League teams representing the North Gyeongsang region, including Uiseong, Gyeongju, Gimcheon, Gumi, Sangju, and Andong, participated in the tournament and engaged in fierce competition. Uiseong County defeated Gyeongju City 11-5 in the final to claim the honor of the inaugural championship. Gyeongju City took second place, while Gyeongsan City and Andong City shared third place.
Through this tournament, Uiseong County achieved the success of providing a venue for skill improvement and exchange among promising youth baseball players.
