김천대학교 배드민턴부(감독 김민호)는 지난 6월 23일부터 7월 4일까지 강원도 양구문화체육관에서 열린 '2026 전국실업대항 및 학교대항 배드민턴 선수권대회'에서 단체전과 혼합복식 등 여러 종목에서 좋은 성적을 냈다. 이번 대회에서 김천대 B팀이 단체전 준우승을 차지했고, C팀도 단체전 3위에 올랐다. 또 김천대 오권호, 조선대 이아영 조는 혼합복식 준우승을 기록하며 경쟁력을 입증했다.
B팀 단체전에는 오권호, 김성훈, 장희오, 배인수, 정태인, 노은호, 정제민, 장윤영, 김민준이 출전해 준우승을 차지했고, C팀은 방서진, 강민성, 김민준, 채희수, 박민, 진호영, 이수민이 활약해 3위를 기록했다.
김민호 감독은 “선수들이 대회 기간 내내 집중력을 잃지 않고 최선을 다해 이번에 좋은 결과를 얻을 수 있었다”면서, “이번 성과를 통해 팀의 성장 가능성과 선수층의 경쟁력을 다시 한 번 확인할 수 있었다”고 소감을 밝혔다.
2021년 창단된 김천대학교 배드민턴부는 매년 전국대회에서 꾸준히 좋은 성적을 내며 선수 육성 기반을 다지고 있다. 졸업생들이 실업팀이나 체육 전문 인력으로 진출하면서 대학의 실무 중심 선수 육성 시스템도 좋은 평가를 받고 있다.
김천대 배드민턴부는 이번 대회 성과를 바탕으로 앞으로도 국내외 각종 대회에 도전할 계획이다. 아울러 우수 선수 육성과 경기력 향상을 통해 지역과 국가를 대표하는 경쟁력 있는 팀으로 성장해 나가겠다는 포부를 밝혔다.

Head Coach Kim Min-ho commented, “The players maintained their focus and gave their all throughout the tournament, which allowed us to achieve this excellent result.” He added, “Through this achievement, we were able to reaffirm the team’s growth potential and the competitiveness of our player pool.”
Founded in 2021, the Gimcheon University Badminton Club is solidifying its foundation for player development by consistently achieving good results in national tournaments every year. The university’s practical, skills-oriented player training system is also receiving positive evaluations as graduates advance to professional teams or become specialized sports professionals.
Based on the success of this tournament, the Gimcheon University Badminton Club plans to continue competing in various domestic and international competitions in the future.
