<브레이크뉴스 영월 = 김일웅 기자> 강원 영월군에서 도내 유소년 축구 꿈나무들이 승패를 뛰어넘어 화합과 우정을 다지는 뜻깊은 스포츠 축제가 열렸다.
7일 영월군에 따르면, 영월군청소년문화의집과 영월군청소년수련관이 공동 주관한 ‘2026년 영월군 우수 어린이 축구교실 초청 교류전’이 지난 4일 영월군스포츠파크 축구장에서 성황리에 개최됐다.
이번 교류전은 엘리트 체육을 지양하고 생활체육의 저변을 확대하기 위해 기획됐다. 이에 따라 정식 등록 선수의 참가를 제한하고, 강원특별자치도 내 유소년 축구교실 취미반 어린이들만 참여해 또래 간 교류와 스포츠의 순수한 즐거움을 나누는 데 초점을 맞췄다.
대회 규모도 풍성했다. 영월을 비롯해 정선, 태백, 홍천, 동해, 삼척 등 도내 6개 지역에서 무려 19개 팀, 200여 명의 유소년 선수와 지도자가 참가했다. 학부모와 가족 등 500여 명의 응원단도 현장을 찾아 아이들의 열띤 경기에 아낌없는 박수를 보냈다.
선의의 경쟁 끝에 1~2학년부는 삼척시체육회, 3~4학년부는 태백 유나이티드, 5~6학년부는 홍천 이글FC가 각각 우승의 영광을 안았다.
이날 개회식에는 김길수 영월군수를 비롯해 신준용 영월군의회 의장, 김성수 영월군체육회장 등 주요 내빈이 대거 참석해 아이들의 건강한 성장을 격려했다.
특히 이번 행사는 PK상사의 행사 물품 지원, 영월의료원의 든든한 의료 지원, 바르게살기운동 영월군협의회의 음료 후원 등 지역 사회 곳곳의 따뜻한 협력이 더해져 더욱 안전하고 성공적인 축제로 마무리될 수 있었다.
영월군청소년수련시설 관계자는 “아이들이 땀 흘리며 스포츠를 즐기고, 또래 친구들과 건강하게 소통하는 잊지 못할 추억을 만들었기를 바란다”며, “앞으로도 지역 간 청소년 교류를 활성화하고 생활체육을 진흥할 수 있는 다채로운 프로그램을 적극 운영하겠다”고 밝혔다.
