<브레이크뉴스 평창 = 김일웅 기자> 강원특별자치도 내 배구 동호인들의 심장을 뛰게 할 최대 스포츠 축제가 ‘청정 스포츠 도시’ 평창에서 화려한 막을 올린다.
평창군은 오는 27일부터 28일까지 이틀간 진부초등학교를 비롯한 관내 4개 체육시설에서 ‘제29회 강원특별자치도지사배 생활체육 남녀 배구대회’가 성대하게 개최된다고 26일 밝혔다.
강원특별자치도 배구협회와 평창군 배구협회가 공동으로 주최·주관하는 이번 대회에는 도내 각 시군을 대표해 선발된 600여 명의 정예 동호인 선수단이 출전한다. 참가 선수들은 그동안 코트 위에서 땀 흘려 갈고닦은 수준 높은 기량을 아낌없이 뽐내며 화합의 스파이크를 날릴 예정이다.
원활하고 안전한 경기 진행을 위해 대회는 진부초등학교 체육관, 평창송어종합공연체험장, 진부생활체육관, 봉평생활체육관 등 총 4곳에서 분산되어 치러진다. 특히 선수들의 컨디션 조절과 경기 집중도를 높이기 위해 별도의 소모적인 개회식은 생략하며, 27일 오전 9시부터 곧바로 본선 랠리에 돌입한다.
평창군은 이번 대회가 지역 생활체육의 저변을 넓히고 배구인들의 끈끈한 교류를 다지는 것은 물론, 평창을 찾은 대규모 선수단에게 ‘스포츠 메카’ 평창의 매력을 각인시키는 훌륭한 계기가 될 것으로 내다보고 있다.
