춘천레저태권도조직위원회는 지난 14일 공지천 의암공원 야외무대에서 ‘2026 시민태권도 활성화 광장사업’ 2차 행사를 성황리에 개최했다. 지난 6일 1차 행사의 열기를 그대로 이어받은 이번 행사는, 시민들이 일상에서 태권도를 쉽고 재밌게 즐기며 다가오는 7월과 9월 춘천 국제대회의 성공을 다 함께 응원하자는 취지로 마련됐다.

이날 현장에는 행정복지센터와 노인복지관 등 11개 기관 관계자를 비롯해 300명이 넘는 시민들이 구름 떼처럼 몰려들었다. 시민들은 제미타(전자 타격대) 체험과 각종 이벤트 프로그램에 직접 참여하며 숨겨왔던 태권 본능을 맘껏 발산했다.

특히 대회 공식 마스코트인 ‘호춘’과 ‘나리’의 인기는 아이돌 못지않았다. 행사장 곳곳을 누비며 시민들과 인증샷을 남기고 안내를 돕는 마스코트들의 활약에 현장엔 웃음꽃이 끊이지 않았다.

오후 5시부터는 본격적인 무대가 펼쳐졌다. 동부노인복지관 어르신들의 노련한 태권교실 발표를 시작으로, 춘천시태권도시범단의 화려한 고난도 격파 시범이 이어지며 관람객들의 탄성을 자아냈다. 이어진 태권체조 시간에는 남녀노소 가릴 것 없이 모두가 자리에서 일어나 동작을 따라 하며, 그야말로 세대를 뛰어넘는 생활체육의 진면목을 보여주었다.
호춘이와 나리는 무대 밖에서도 맹활약을 펼쳤다. 오는 7월 송암스포츠타운 에어돔에서 막을 올리는 ‘강원·춘천 2026 세계태권도문화축제’ 및 ‘2026 춘천코리아오픈국제태권도대회’, 그리고 9월에 열릴 ‘춘천 2026 세계태권도품새선수권대회’를 적극적으로 홍보하며 춘천시민들의 기대감을 한껏 끌어올렸다.
