계명대학교는 지난 5일부터 11일까지 전북 무주 태권도원 T1경기장에서 열린 ‘제12회 태권도원배 전국태권도선수권대회’ 겨루기 부문에서 여자대학부 종합우승을 차지했다고 밝혔다.
이번 우승은 1978년 태권도부 창단 이후 처음으로 거둔 여자대학부 전국대회 종합우승이라는 점에서 의미를 더하고 있다.
계명대는 이번 대회에 감독과 선수 등 총 19명이 출전해 금메달 4개, 은메달 3개, 동메달 1개를 획득하며 총 8명의 입상자를 배출했다. 특히 여자대학부에서는 금메달 2개와 은메달 2개를 기록하며 종합 정상에 올랐다.
여자부에서는 -49kg급 오서린과 -57kg급 이순명이 각각 우승을 차지하며 금메달을 목에 걸었다. 또한 -53kg급 조민경과 -57kg급 김민서는 준우승을 기록하며 종합우승에 힘을 보탰다.
이 가운데 오서린은 대회 기간 가장 많은 득점을 기록하며 우수선수상까지 수상하는 겹경사를 맞았다.
남자대학부에서도 우수한 성적이 이어졌다. -80kg급 이인혁과 +87kg급 전현민이 각각 정상에 올랐으며, -63kg급 공원석은 은메달, -58kg급 장혁진은 동메달을 획득했다. 계명대는 이를 바탕으로 남자대학부 종합 3위에 이름을 올렸다.
특히 이인혁 역시 뛰어난 경기력을 인정받아 우수선수상을 수상하며 팀의 성과를 더욱 빛냈다.
계명대 태권도부는 여자대학부 종합우승과 남자대학부 종합 3위를 비롯해 남녀 우수선수상, 최우수지도자상 등 총 5개의 트로피를 차지하며 이번 대회를 성공적으로 마무리했다.
최우수지도자상을 받은 정재정 감독은 “선수들이 힘든 훈련 과정을 성실히 이겨내며 끝까지 최선을 다해준 덕분에 좋은 결과를 얻을 수 있었다”며 “학교의 꾸준한 지원과 관심이 이번 성과의 밑거름이 됐다”고 말했다.
한편 계명대학교 태권도학과는 대구·경북 지역 대학 가운데 유일하게 태권도 전용센터를 운영하고 있으며, 지난해부터 세계대학태권도페스티벌을 개최하고 있다. 올해 ‘대구2026세계대학태권도페스티벌’은 오는 7월 4일부터 7일까지 계명대 성서캠퍼스 체육관에서 열릴 예정이다.

A total of 19 participants, including coaches and athletes, from Keimyung University competed in the tournament, winning four gold medals, three silver medals, and one bronze medal, producing a total of eight medalists. Notably, the women's university division topped the overall standings by recording two gold and two silver medals.
In the women's division, Oh Seo-rin (-49kg) and Lee Sun-myung (-57kg) each claimed gold medals. Additionally, Jo Min-kyung (-53kg) and Kim Min-seo (-57kg) finished as runners-up, contributing to the overall victory.
Among them, Oh Seo-rin recorded the highest score during the competition and received the Outstanding Athlete Award, marking a double celebration.
Excellent results continued in the men's university division as well. Lee In-hyuk (-80kg) and Jeon Hyun-min (+87kg) each took the top spots, while Gong Won-seok (-63kg) won a silver medal and Jang Hyuk-jin (-58kg) secured a bronze medal. Head Coach Jeong Jae-jeong, who received the Best Coach Award, said, “We were able to achieve good results thanks to the athletes who diligently endured the rigorous training process and did their best until the end,” adding, “The school’s consistent support and interest served as the foundation for this achievement.”
Meanwhile, Keimyung University’s Department of Taekwondo is the only university in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions to operate a dedicated Taekwondo center, and has been hosting the World University Taekwondo Festival since last year. This year’s ‘Daegu 2026 World University Taekwondo Festival’ is scheduled to be held from July 4 to 7 at the gymnasium of Keimyung University’s Seongseo Campus.
