【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=충북 음성군이 전국의 캄보디아 이주민들을 한자리에 모아 스포츠를 통한 화합과 소통의 장을 열어 주목을 받았다. 음성군은 지난 6일 음성군 생활체육공원 축구장에서 국내 거주 캄보디아 이주민들의 최대 체육행사 중 하나인 ‘2026년 캄보디아 커뮤니티 컵 축구대회’가 성황리에 마무리됐다고 밝혔다.
주한 캄보디아 대사관이 주관하고 음성군외국인지원센터 등이 지원한 이번 대회는 축구라는 대중적인 스포츠를 매개로 국내 캄보디아 이주민들의 건강한 여가 활동을 장려하고 커뮤니티 내 결속을 다지기 위해 마련됐다. 행사 당일에는 음성 지역뿐만 아니라 전국 각지에서 발길을 한 캄보디아 이주노동자와 다문화가족, 그리고 이들을 응원하는 지역 주민 등 500여 명이 참석해 관람석을 가득 메우며 뜨거운 열기 속에 경기가 진행됐다.
