8일 경기 성남시 네이버 사옥 '1784'에서 이해진 의장과 젠슨 황 CEO는 회동을 갖고 AI 팩토리 구축 로드맵과 글로벌 시장 공동 진출 방안을 논의했다. 이는 최근 이른바 '삼겹살 회동' 이후 3일 만의 재회다.
AI 팩토리는 AI 모델 학습과 추론에 필요한 GPU, 네트워크, 전력, 냉각, 소프트웨어 등을 통합 운영하는 차세대 AI 인프라다. 기존 데이터센터를 넘어 AI를 생산하는 '지능 공장' 개념으로, 생성형 AI 시대 핵심 국가 경쟁력으로 주목받고 있다.

양사는 오는 2027년 상반기 55MW 규모 AI 팩토리 가동을 시작으로 같은 해 100MW, 2028년 200MW까지 단계적으로 인프라를 확대할 계획이다. 장기적으로는 엔비디아 최신 GPU 수십만 장을 수용할 수 있는 GW급 AI 팩토리 구축을 목표로 한다.
네이버는 국내 최대 하이퍼스케일 데이터센터인 '각 세종'을 핵심 거점으로 활용해 아시아·태평양 지역을 넘어 유럽과 중동 시장까지 공략한다는 구상이다.
기술 협력도 강화된다. 네이버가 축적한 대규모 GPU 클러스터 운영 경험과 데이터센터 구축 역량을 엔비디아의 차세대 인프라 플랫폼 'DSX'와 결합해 운영 효율성과 사업성을 높일 예정이다. 또한 엔비디아의 월드 파운데이션 모델 '코스모스'에 네이버의 공간 모델링 및 거리뷰 데이터를 접목한 '서울 월드 모델' 구축 등 공간 인텔리전스 분야 협력도 추진한다.

네이버는 최근 글로벌 AI 기업들이 참여하는 '엔비디아 네모트론 연합'에도 합류했다. 회사는 이를 바탕으로 자체 AI 모델인 하이퍼클로바 X의 성능 고도화와 글로벌 경쟁력 확보에 나설 계획이다.
이해진 의장은 "이번 협력을 통해 각 국가와 지역이 독자적인 소버린 AI 역량을 구축할 수 있는 구체적인 대안을 제시할 수 있게 됐다"며 "네이버의 기술 인프라 경쟁력이 글로벌 시장으로 도약하는 계기가 될 것"이라고 밝혔다.

Naver and Nvidia Join Hands to Build Gigawatt-Class 'AI Factory'
