대전하나시티즌의 체계적인 유소년 육성 시스템이 전국 최고 권위의 무대에서 결실을 맺으며 대한민국 유소년 축구의 최강자임을 스스로 입증했다.
김재기 감독이 이끄는 대전하나시티즌 12세 이하(U12) 유소년팀은 지난 26일 부산 기장월드컵빌리지에서 열린 ‘제55회 전국소년체육대회’ 축구 12세 이하부 결승전에서 난적 울산HDFC U12팀을 2대1로 꺾고 영광의 우승 트로피를 들어 올렸다.
이번 대회에서 대전 U12팀은 막강한 화력과 위기 극복 능력을 동시에 보여줬다.
첫날 16강전에서 충북 대표 청주DOOFC를 4대1로 완파한 대전은, 8강전에서 대구FC U12에게 선제골을 내주며 고전했으나 곽도윤의 멀티골과 안승민의 역전골로 3대1 짜릿한 역전승을 거뒀다.
기세를 몰아 준결승에서는 제주 화북초를 상대로 5명의 선수가 고루 골맛을 보며 5대2 대승으로 결승에 안착했다.

울산과의 결승전 역시 명승부였다. 전반을 0대0으로 마친 대전은 후반 5분 조하준이 얻어낸 페널티킥을 골키퍼 홍장군이 성공시키며 리드를 잡았고, 2분 뒤 곽도윤의 추가골로 승기를 굳혔다.
후반 막판 추격골을 허용했으나 만점짜리 집중력으로 2대1 승리를 지켜냈다. 대회 내내 헌신적인 플레이를 펼친 주장 조하준은 대회 최우수선수상(MVP)을 수상했다.
한편 박재성 감독이 이끄는 대전하나시티즌 U15팀 역시 이번 대회에서 최종 3위에 오르며 저력을 발휘했다.
U15팀은 세종선발과 제주중앙중을 연달아 격파하며 준결승에 올랐으나, 인천유나이티드 U15(광성중)에 0대1로 석패하며 동메달을 획득했다.
지난 2월 울진 춘계대회 준우승에 이어 이번 소년체전에서도 값진 성과를 거두며 전국구 중등 축구 명문으로서의 입지를 더욱 공고히 했다.
