(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시교육청이 오는 23일부터 26일까지 부산광역시 일원에서 열리는 ‘제55회 전국소년체육대회’에 39개 종목, 총 813명의 인천 대표 학생선수가 출전한다고 밝혔다.
인천시교육청에 따르면, 지난 3월 12일부터 4월 12일까지 종목별 예선대회를 운영하며 대표 선수 선발전을 진행했으며 예선에는 총 2,700여 명의 학생이 참가해 열띤 경쟁을 펼쳤다.
그 결과 경합 끝에 최종 선발된 813명의 선수가 인천을 대표해 이번 전국 대회 무대에 오른다.
인천선수단은 지난해 대회에서 금·은·동메달을 포함해 총 101개의 메달을 획득하며 우수한 성과를 거둔 바 있다.
인천시교육청은 올해도 핸드볼·축구·농구 등 단체 종목은 물론 양궁·유도·태권도·복싱 등 인천의 전통적인 강세 종목에서 선전을 기대하고 있다.
