‘행복배달 소원우체통’은 시설 내 설치된 소원우체통에 아동들이 받고 싶은 선물과 소원을 적은 손편지를 넣으면 이를 실제 선물로 전달해주는 공익사업이다. 가정의 달을 맞아 소외계층 아동들이 느낄 수 있는 정서적 소외감을 덜기 위해 추진됐다.
경주우체국은 지난 4월 경주성애원 보호아동들의 소원이 담긴 편지를 접수했으며, 이날 행사에서 총 35명의 아동에게 장난감과 의류 등 150만 원 상당의 맞춤형 선물과 함께 응원의 메시지를 담은 답장 편지를 전달했다.
경주성애원 관계자는 “행복배달 소원우체통을 통해 아이들에게 소중한 추억을 만들어줘 감사하다”고 전했다.
박상윤 경주우체국장은 “편지와 우체통이라는 매개가 아이들에게 따뜻한 기억으로 남길 바란다”며 “앞으로도 우체국 공익보험과 네트워크를 활용해 지역사회에서 지속 가능한 공적 역할을 수행해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

The Gyeongju Post Office (Director Park Sang-yoon) of the Gyeongbuk Regional Postal Service held the ‘Happiness Delivery Wish Mailbox’ event at Gyeongju Seongaewon, a child care facility, on April 29th to celebrate Family Month.
The ‘Happiness Delivery Wish Mailbox’ is a public service initiative where children place handwritten letters containing their wishes and desired gifts into a wish mailbox installed within the facility, which is then delivered as actual gifts. The initiative was launched to alleviate the emotional isolation that underprivileged children may experience during Family Month.
Gyeongju Post Office received letters containing the wishes of the children under the care of Gyeongju Seongaewon last April. At the event, they delivered personalized gifts worth approximately 1.5 million won—including toys and clothing—along with reply letters containing messages of encouragement to a total of 35 children.
An official from Gyeongju Seongaewon stated, “We are grateful for the precious memories created for the children through the Happiness Delivery Wish Mailbox.”
Park Sang-yoon, Director of the Gyeongju Post Office, stated, “I hope that letters and mailboxes will remain as warm memories for the children,” adding, “We will continue to fulfill a sustainable public role in the local community by utilizing the Post Office’s public insurance and network.”
