<브레이크뉴스 홍천 = 이건문 기자> 홍천군이 군민들의 생생한 목소리를 군정에 반영하기 위해 본격적인 주민 참여예산제 가동에 나섰다.
홍천군은 지난 13일 홍천읍 대회의실에서 ‘2026년 제1회 주민 참여예산위원회’를 성공적으로 개최했다고 17일 밝혔다. 이날 회의에는 전체 위원 44명 중 29명이 참석해 뜨거운 열기를 더했다.
이번 위원회는 주민참여예산제에 대한 위원들의 이해도를 높이고 올해 활동 방향을 공유함과 동시에, 3개 분과별 정책사업 발굴의 탄탄한 토대를 다지기 위해 마련됐다.

회의 1부에서는 주민참여예산제 전반에 대한 교육과 함께, 최신 트렌드를 반영한 ‘인공지능(AI) 도우미 활용 사업 발굴 및 제안서 작성법’ 등 실무 중심의 안내가 진행됐다. 이어 2부에서는 2026년 분과별 활동 계획 수립과 정책사업 발굴 방안을 심도 있게 논의하는 시간을 가졌다.
앞서 홍천군은 위원회 교육과 별개로 지난 2월, 읍면별로 총 10차례에 걸쳐 주민 참여예산 지역회의 교육을 선제적으로 진행하며 주민 참여의 저변을 넓힌 바 있다.
위원회는 향후 7월에 제2회 회의를 열어 2027년 제안 사업 심의를 진행하고, 주민 의견 분과를 구성해 3차례의 추가 교육을 실시할 예정이다. 이어 8월 제3회 위원회에서는 논의된 내용을 바탕으로 주민의견서를 최종 의결하게 된다.
한편, 이번 위원회에서 의결된 주민의견서는 2027년 본예산 편성 시 첨부 자료로 군의회에 제출되어 실질적인 예산 반영으로 이어질 전망이다.
