(February 2026, Los Angeles) — Filmmaker Young Man Kang has unveiled "Prayer: The Portuguese Way," a special three-episode chapter of the acclaimed Prayer International Series, bringing together Prayer Lisbon, Prayer Porto, and Prayer Santiago into one unified spiritual journey.
Spanning Portugal’s capital, its northern river city, and the final steps of the Camino de Santiago, this trilogy traces a path not only across landscapes — but across the inner terrain of doubt, surrender, and transformation.
“The Portuguese Way is not only a pilgrimage route — it is an inner road. Lisbon begins with confusion, Porto with departure, and Santiago with freedom. Through these three cities, prayer changes its meaning.”
A Journey in Three Movements
Prayer Lisbon
opens the story in a city of hills, trams, and Atlantic light. Alex, a young Brazilian immigrant, lives between two selves — one reaching toward prayer, the other drifting into silence and self-destruction. Lisbon becomes a place of confession and fragile hope.
Prayer Porto
deepens the emotional arc. Against the backdrop of tiled facades and the Douro River, Alex confronts addiction, isolation, and the fear of leaving behind the life she once knew. The train north becomes both escape and calling.
Prayer Santiago
concludes the trilogy along the sacred Camino route. As cathedral bells echo and the ocean wind strikes the cliffs of Galicia, prayer transforms from desperation into surrender. In one of the series’ most powerful closing images, Alex stands at the edge of the world — no longer asking to win, but to be free.

Portugal Through a Pilgrim’s Lens
Portugal continues to captivate global travelers. The trilogy captures historic neighborhoods and riverfronts of Lisbon and Porto, the symbolism of scallop shells along the Camino, Santiago de Compostela’s cathedral, and Atlantic cliffs where land meets horizon. Beyond tourism imagery, the films frame these spaces as emotional landscapes — places where silence speaks and prayer becomes movement.
