세종특별자치시의회의원선거구획정위원회가 제9회 전국동시지방선거를 앞두고 지역선거구 18석의 획정을 완료했다. 인구 급증에 따른 균형 배분이 핵심이다.
13일 위원회는 2025년 말 인구를 기준으로 생활권, 교통, 국회 선거구 등을 종합 검토한 결과를 발표했다. 헌법재판소 기준 상한 인구 3만2,694명과 하한 1만898명(3대1 비율)을 엄격 준수하며 국회 갑·을 구역도 반영했다.
상한을 초과한 제4선거구(연기면·연동면·연서면·해밀동)는 연서면을 분리해 하한 미달 제5선거구(전의면·전동면·소정면)로 이동시켰다.
제8선거구(도담동 특정 통·어진동)는 어진동 행정동 개청에 맞춰 도담동을 단독으로 하고 어진동·나성동을 새롭게 묶었다. 올해 하반기 집현동 개청에 대비해 반곡동과 분리, 제15·16선거구로 각각 신설했다.
이 획정안은 지난 1월26일부터 2월4일까지 정당과 시의회 의견을 수렴한 후 최종 의결됐다. 세종시는 보고서 제출 후 ‘세종시의원 지역선거구 조례’ 개정안을 내달 제104회 임시회에 상정, 지방선거 공명선거 체계를 구축할 계획이다.
